This week, a colleague of MTFM sent us this quote:

“Taking time for yourself should never be seen as a burden. Not on you, and not on anyone else.” - Elizabeth Franklin.

The following comment accompanied the quote: “And I just sat out by my fountain on the patio with a cup of coffee and did nothing—guilt free!! Thanks for being a good influence!”

Wow, what a great email to get first thing in the morning! We encourage you to write this quote on your favorite color sticky note and post it somewhere you can see it every day so you can reflect on it, relish in it, and most importantly, live it! Enjoy your me time guilt and burden free and see how much better your day will be! Happy and safe holiday weekend!

I grew up in Long Island, and no, I don't have the accent. I spent most of my summers in Shelter Island, which is a tiny island between the North and South forks of Eastern Long Island. It is here where I really like to say I grew up. I have the best memories of my childhood in Shelter Island, everything from bonfires and water-skiing to working at The Rams Head Inn and wearing culottes made out of upholstery material that matched the wallpaper (and, yes, those suckers were hot in the August heat!). If you ever want to find a true escape, visit Shelter Island (www.shelter-island.org) and expect nothing except relaxation and my favorite, no traffic lights!!

I was born and raised in Norwalk, CT and went to Merrimack College in MA. I have tried to move out of CT a few times but with no luck so the powers that be are telling me this is my place. I love to read, I love to go out to dinner, I love to watch movies although I never seem to get to the movies nearly as much as I would like. I also like to experiment with different and all kinds of crafts. I am a master of none but a novice at lots! Currently my craft passion is knitting, although if you want me to make you something, it may take a while for me to finish it. I love new adventures and love to try new things which is why My Time For Me came about. I figured everyone wanted to try most things at least once right?
