Grand Central Terminal Tour and Private Reception

Grand Central Terminal. It is an iconic and revered building, recognized in many a famous photos and now you can have a glance at how this amazing place, that is much more than a train station, works and all it has to offer.

Join us for a private, professionally guided walking tour of this historic building that traces its history from the original 1800's Grand Central Depot through its dramatic restoration in the 1990's to its transformation into one of today's most famous New York City destinations for dining, shopping, gourmet fresh food and public events, in addition to transportation.

The tour will be followed by a visit, including drinks and lite fare, at the famed Campbell Apartment, formerly the private office and salon of 1920's tycoon, John W. Campbell. The Campbell Apartment has been fully restored to its original splendor -- and reborn as a chic cocktail lounge that has been cited in the national media as one of "the best bars in America."

After taking this tour, you will see GCT for much more than tracks and trains and how and why you can make a whole day trip just out of visiting Grand Central Terminal!

I grew up in Long Island, and no, I don't have the accent. I spent most of my summers in Shelter Island, which is a tiny island between the North and South forks of Eastern Long Island. It is here where I really like to say I grew up. I have the best memories of my childhood in Shelter Island, everything from bonfires and water-skiing to working at The Rams Head Inn and wearing culottes made out of upholstery material that matched the wallpaper (and, yes, those suckers were hot in the August heat!). If you ever want to find a true escape, visit Shelter Island (www.shelter-island.org) and expect nothing except relaxation and my favorite, no traffic lights!!

I was born and raised in Norwalk, CT and went to Merrimack College in MA. I have tried to move out of CT a few times but with no luck so the powers that be are telling me this is my place. I love to read, I love to go out to dinner, I love to watch movies although I never seem to get to the movies nearly as much as I would like. I also like to experiment with different and all kinds of crafts. I am a master of none but a novice at lots! Currently my craft passion is knitting, although if you want me to make you something, it may take a while for me to finish it. I love new adventures and love to try new things which is why My Time For Me came about. I figured everyone wanted to try most things at least once right?
