Get Bald for St. Baldrick’s

Every year the St. Baldrick's Foundation organizes volunteers to shave their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer. While Ms. Moffly loves to get a new hairstyle, I’m not quite brave enough shave off all my hair. However, still eager to be involved, Ms. Moffly is happily sponsoring some fantastic kids who are going for it and shaving their heads this March to raise money to fight childhood cancer!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation uses the donations to fund more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization except the United States Government! In 2009 alone, 33,373 people shaved their heads and raised $16,634,855 at shaving events around the world.

Antiques on the cheap

Discount furniture chain stores served a purpose for Ms. Moffly in my early post-college years. But now Ms. Moffly’s ready to acquire some furniture and accessories that truly match my style and verve. Medium Density Fiberboard, be gone! Sip Safely

Ms. Moffly has appreciated the serenity a sippy cup provides when entertaining includes children. Recently, however, it was reported that many plastic containers are made with BPA: a toxin that is particularly dangerous for babies and children. Also troubling is the pile up of plastic at our landfills. Do we forgo using the sippy cup? Absolutely not! Instead, Ms. Moffly turned to the new trend in sippy cups—eco-friendly, non-toxic, “food grade” stainless steel products.

Some of Ms. Moffly’s friends have deigned to call me dramatic. I prefer to call it panache. So instead of acting out, Ms. Moffly’s decided to see some professional actors in the limelight.

You don’t need to drive all the way to New York City’s “Great White Way” to see quality theatrical productions. There are wonderful theater companies that host talented performers and interesting productions right here in Fairfield County.

Best Sports Bars

So what if Ms. Moffly doesn’t know the difference between a touchdown and a tackle. Some people go to sports bars to watch the game and some (ahem) to watch the men. On Saturday night in the spirit of trying new things in the New Year, my girl friends and I decided to put down the Sauvignon Blanc and to pick up a Bud Light.
