Most people would agree that the best way to find a good doctor is to ask another physician for a recommendation. To get a broader picture, we asked Castle Connolly, the physician-led medical data research firm that vets doctors around the country, to provide us with its list of the top professionals in our area.

The company compiled its list by first asking medical leaders in lower Fairfield County which doctors they thought were the best in their specialty. Then they carefully checked the nominees’ credentials, including educational and professional experience, before making the final selections.
