One of the key factors in fitness that often time gets overlooked is the act of stretching. Many individuals have tightened muscles of the legs and trunk/core for a number of reasons including: inactivity, prolonged periods of sitting/standing, insufficient range of motion (through the joints), as well as lack of knowledge of movements. However, flexibility and mobility are prescribed with simple exercises that can be applied daily.
Stretching Routine:
Warm-up- 5 minutes (elevate Heart rate)
-
Light jumping jacks
-
Jog in place
-
Jump rope (use arm swings if you don’t have rope with you)
Dynamic Stretching- Distance of 20 yards
Frankenstein
Butt kickers
High knee pulls
Static stretch -2x each for 20seconds (alternate between legs)
